Art, Car, Cafe

Yesterday I worked on a drawing of Art Chrisman, met someone for an interview(which didn't work out), washed my new(to me) car, and we ended up going out to dinner to the Mexican Cafe with Matt and his date.

This morning I got up early and finished the drawing of Art and am now thinking of starting a new drawing and possibly going to the post office to send all the drawings home to my family.
Below are some photos of my ooooolllllddddd car 1992 Toyota Starlet.

Below is the drawing of Art Chrisman

Below is us at the Mexican Cafe
This is not the best picture but I thought I should show everyone that we look the same hahahaa. Oh yeah and I am sure the fake plant behind Grant looks familiar because they always sit us in this corner.

Baby You Can Drive My Car

Tuesday it rained on and off all day long. I was all ready to go for a walk and then Rain!
OH well, I got a lot of other stuff done.
I signed up to some yoga classes and I found a community pool that is near our new place that has all sorts of classes. There is a swim class Mon wed Fri and I think I will go on Friday and check it out. There is also a water polo class on Sundays that I think I am going to go to.

In other news I am working on a drawing right now that will hopefully make next months NZ Hot Rod Magazine, and I have two interviews for nanny jobs today, and Last night I picked up my car(pics to come).

Here I am ready to work out and then rain.

Of course the rain cleared up when Grant called me to pick them up at the ferry. You would think it was a warm sunny day.

Today's plan finish that drawing (most important), two interviews and possibly clean my new/veryold car.

Sorry I have not been blogging as much as normal but I keep forgetting to take pictures and I feel like a blog with out them is sometimes really boring.
Saturday night we just hung out at home to save money and because we were just plain tired.
Sunday morning I woke up to the roommate who is always in a bad mood, bitching about the kitchen being a mess. I got really upset and Grant said that he would have said it to whoever walked in that kitchen at that moment. In my opinion I am the only one who always picks up after them selves and cleans their dishes so him blowing up at me was wrong.
I have decided that he is not only someone that I don't want to live with but some one that I don't want to talk to so if he talks to me I am going to ignore ignore ignore! I also know that doing that pisses people off and especially people like him! Grant made the comment that it should make me feel better that when we move out that they will each be paying double what they pay now to cover our room being empty and that they will have to buy everything that Grant shares in the house that we are taking with us and guess what it does make me feel better.

After the giant Oscar the grouch blow up we went to the mall and got Grant some shoes (he only had one pair before and they were falling apart). We also went to our new flat and saw the car that I have decided to buy( it is pretty shitty but also cheap and economical) and measured some more walls hahhaha. Alex our new flatmate said you guys sure do a lot of measuring hahah and he offered us a beer and we all stood around and chatted for a while.

Below is a sketch of the wardrobe that Grant is making us

Today I dropped Grant off at his bosses house because he is working on the island today and tomorrow so I get his car for 2 whole days yay.
Because it is raining it is the perfect day to do art.

A Productive Saturday Finally!

Today was awesome! It was one of those days where you feel like you actually accomplished something. We woke up and a normal time and after breakfast went to the thrift store and got a microwave for 15 dollars and a couch with a foot stool for 60 dollars! Grants dad got it with us so we could fit it into his truck and we are storing it at his place till we move( I can't wait btw).
We also painted some wood that we are going to use to make some shelves out of.

Around 4pm I went on an interview with a family to be a nanny with, and it feels like it went really well, at least I really liked them! I will have to wait and find out through the agency. After that I went to the Market that I really like and was use to from last year and got all the stuff I can't get at our super market over here. I am not sure what we will do the rest of the night but I don't even really care because we got so much done today!

Last night was Dave's birthday so we went to a local bar and had a few drinks (i had water, and am proud of myself). Later we all came back to our bar at the house and had a few drinks and apparently it got crazy, but thankfully I went to bed so I didn't have to be part of any of it.

The Rainy Interview

First things first, I can't believe I didn't do a blog last night! Before I ate dinner I thought I have to do my blog and then I made dinner and ate and totally forgot!

Anyways, yesterday I caught the bus around noon into the city and because I was so early I looked in a few stores before I caught the next bus to Parnell (interview location).
I again arrived to Parnell extremely early too so I did the only thing I could think of which was get a coffee and sit and read my book for about 45 minutes.

The interview went really well. Mainly just filling out forms and telling them what kind of families that I would like to work with. There are about three different families that they are going to get me interviews with and we will see how we like each other and whether it will work or not.

After my interview the lady said good luck in the rain and I came out of the building to see that is was pouring rain! Thank god I had an umbrella but even with that it wasn't much help its not like I could just get in my car. I then caught the 2 buses back home and I was super frustrated when I couldn't figure out where to catch the second bus and I didn't have a map so I was aimlessly walking around the city looking for the bus stop and finally ended up just getting on one that came close to my house and ended up walking about 3k in the rain from the bus stop home! Lets just say my pants absorbed water all the way up to my knees.

After this trip I have decided that I must have a car! By the time I walk to where I am going and get buses and walk back I am so tired that there would be no way that I could put out that much effort and also have a job.
When home I made us some dinner and guess what came crawling along my shoulder when trying to relax? A huge spider! I hate spiders and they are always getting on me. I jumped up knocked him off took off my shirt and screamed! Guess what Grant did? he looked up at me and started laughing and said what are you doing? I said spider spider pointing and he smashed it with his hand. From that point on I felt like they were crawling all over me and I was sorta crying cause I knew what would happen! Grant said you need to control your mind and I could tell he was getting irritated at me. What I thought would happen did I had nightmares all night that they were falling on me and crawling on me. At one point during the night I sat up and took my shirt off and I think it was in my sleep.
This morning when I woke up I said I had a lot of bad dreams and Grant said I know you were kicking and jerking all over the place. Its not like I can help this!

I hope I don't have anymore spider encounters today.
Note to Lacey: Tell Dean that I hope he recovers quickly and feels better!

A Pleasant Surprise

Today the ceiling was not leaking but the sky was!

Yesterday I told myself tomorrow I am going to go for a walk and get out of the house and all day today it was raining on and off and really windy so that plan was scrapped.
Mid morning Mel's friend came by and picked up my art work because he is going to see Mel soon and he lives really close to me, which was great! I was a little worried about how I was going to get it to her.
I also started the Art Chrisman drawing and hope to have it done as soon as I can. My pleasant surprise was Grant got home a little early today so we had a small discussion about how we could possibly put our furniture in our new place. It ended with us both saying the same thing we always do, I guess we will just have to get it all in there and then move it around and see what looks best. But we both have great ideas!
Tomorrow I am signing up to the nanny agency so wish me luck!
Sorry no pics today=(

The Big Leak

This morning started out like all the other mornings with breakfast and replying to my e-mails.
Around 9am I went down stairs to do some laundry and saw that the ceiling was leaking water in two different places. I called Grant and he had to call everyone else to get it all figured out then I had to let the plumber in who did a bunch of different things and couldn't figure out where the water was coming from, go figure.

I got a lot of stuff done today, for instance this drawing for some friends of Mel.

Tomorrow I will start a new drawing! Hopefully the ceiling won't leak anymore.

Checking out the new Flat

Today all day I worked on an art project. I am proud of myself because I didn't let myself get distracted. If I wasn't drawing then I was talking to my mom helping design my art brochure.

After dinner tonight we went and visited our new flatmates and we measured the area where we will be putting all our junk. I think we are going to make some shelves. When home we all had tea and biscuits and now I plan to read and go to sleep.

Saturday where have you gone?

All day yesterday I was so super tired so really nothing got done but I guess that is what Saturdays are for. Around 6pm we went to a 30th birthday party and really partied hard, which means all day today so far we have done nothing but hang out and recover. Soon we will go shopping.
I had a great time until about midnight when the balls of my feet went from being uncomfortable in my boots to being down right painful. So pain full that I had to sit down and then I had to take the boots off and then we had to leave. I literally could not even walk! I was bare foot from the bar to the cab to the house. It felt like my feet were on fire.

Someone had these cool glasses that we all decided to take turns wearing. This morning I thought its too bad I didn't take any pictures and then I open my camera and what do I find out? I did take pictures just to drunk to remember I guess hahahahh

I guess we are all just nerds at heart!

A day in my Life

Most of you know what a day in my life looks like because you have been reading this for a year but here is what most of my days have been looking like lately. The night time was a different story.
I wake up, make breafast, then bring it in my room and eat while I read and reply to my emails and talk to my mom brain storming about art ideas. I then sized some art pictures and printed them out with my New Printer!

After I did my "office work" I walked to the store(because i don't have a car) and bought some cake mix for Alina's birthday party last night. Walking to the store killed 2 birds with one stone, exercise and getting what I need.

Once home I made the cake and had lunch.

There it is baking away oh yeah I am there too.

After all the food I worked on an art project and then got ready for Alina's birthday dinner. Grant came home around 5pm and we told the roommates that we were moving out! Take that hahahaha Anyways they were semi shocked I think they really thought Grant would never want to move out and that I would just leave or something ahhaha funny! Anyways imediately they were like I guess we are going to have to advertise to have some one move in, only hot girls, in thier dreams. If they can't get any girls to even talk to them how would they convince one to live here hahaha. Grant jokingly said yeah you could find a hot girl and then pay her to move in ahaha good one.
Around 8pm we were off to meet Alina at a restaurant in Ponsonby called BolliWood(indian food).

Alina looking very nice! And what a great idea she had, after dinner for fun she had bought some mustaches for everyone to wear from the dollar store. Grant won for keeping his on the longest he wore it to the bar we went to after dinner too hahahah.

Mr. Mustache I think it looks pretty good really!

Mine on the other hand does not look good hahahha.

Then there's this look

Tom and I

Grant and Rina

Dancing at the Bar Crib

Shake it don't break it

Not really sure what was going on here but it looks pretty crazy!

The night ended with us going home around 12 or 1am and having a discussion in the car about how the roommates reacted to us moving out and how it will all work out just fine.
At this point it felt like the night was over but it wasn't complete until we came up stairs and thinking that this one roommate had gone out and left his light on (Grant the official turn the lights off guy)Grant went in the room to quickly flip the light off and was shocked to see the roommate and a "guest(girl)" in the room in a very compromising situation. Next thing I know Grant comes in our room beet red laughing with the most embarrassed look on his face and tells me what happened. I was laughing so hard. Grant said "next time his light is on I think I am just going to leave it!" I am laughing right now just thinking of the whole story!
Saturday Morning (today):
Wake up, Grant has to move his car to let the roommate out that had the guest over and he tells me I don't want to go out there its so embarrasing hahahahhaha! Grant went to work and I am working on art.

Good News

No pictures today, I know boring!
I got some good news today, the people that we went and viewed the flat on Monday said that we got it yay! I was so excited that I called Grant right away and told him and said aren't you excited and he said no that he doesn't get excited about where he lives that it isn't a big deal to him but that he is excited that I am happy and that I am excited! I guess that is all I can ask for!

I am the reason why we are moving after all so he is excited that I am excited, all I see in my future is decorating and organizing, yay! My favorite things.

Another thing that I am happy about and that I think Grant is really happy about is next Thursday I have an interview with a nanny agency. There are tons of jobs and since I have experience I am pretty sure I won't have a problem getting one. All I might have to do is a first aid course because my certificate expired and I might need to get a car, those are easy solutions.

Art all day!

Combined Post

Yesterday I watched Sybilla! We had a great time, it felt like I never left. We walked up to the park and played for a while and then we walked up to the library and made it just in time for the reading group.

Isn't she cute! She can say my name now and a lot more.

Today it is a combined post because I didn't write yesterday. I worked on art all day and just had stir fry for dinner. When we were making dinner I told Grant that I was kinda sad and he said he can tell, I started to get a little teared up and he said its ok to cry just not in the food hahaha. I guess it is ok to get a little sad once in a while.
