East Coast Trip 2009

Note: I am going to write all about our trip to the East Coast, but I am going to do it in sections because it takes so long and all the video clips will be in separate postings.
DAY ONE NEW YORK
Friday June 19th at the crack of dawn (4am) we woke up and my dad drove my mom and I to LAX so we could catch our flight to NY. I had never been to NY and my mom had only made a short visit a few years back that wasn't so great, soooo to say the least we were excited!
I will not be calling this a vacation because to me a vacation involves relaxing and really our trip was more like a marathon to see and experience everything we possibly could. We arrived in NY around 330pm but by the time we got to the hotel via large bus with many people it was around 6pm. We went straight to dinner in the hotel and then we walked around time square. Our hotel room looked right over all the action on Broadway. We we walking around for about 5 min before some guy comes up to my mom and says 10 dollars each for a comedy show starting right now so her response is yeah! I thought here we go we are already getting ripped off! It turned out to be a great show and really funny. Once back in the hotel my mom and I went out for desert and some drinks and I remembered my friend Ryan from college was living in NY, so I called him and we made a plan to meet up the next day.

DAY TWO. RAIN.
Saturday June 20th (a year ago Grant and I met) We woke up to the sound of my friend Ryan calling at 940 am hahahha and rain. When we were done getting ready we went down to time square and we signed up for one of those double decker bus tours. Not the best idea when it is pouring rain, but funny! We used the bus all day to hop on and off of and the guide was good because they tell you about everything you are passing along the way. We got off in Little Italy and had some really good Italian food and of course gelato yum. Mid afternoon we took our bus to Ryan's apartment and we were able to hang out with him for a while. He is in his last year in dental school, we went to college together and really had some of the wildest times ever, I can laugh just thinking about some of it. He lived above me and all my roommates through out college in the dorms.
Later that night my mom and I got dressed up and went to dinner at a place called Spice Market and it is called that for a reason! Some of the spiciest food I have ever had, but very good. We took the subway home and I never laughed so hard when the subway jerked taking off and my mom lost her footing and stepped right on this guys foot. To make matters worse the poor guy was only wearing flip flops! Later when we were away from the guy laughing she said I heard a crunch when it happened ahhahahha.

DAY THREE MORE RAIN
Sunday June 21. We started the day out at Carnegie Deli (very famous) for breakfast and had the best omelet and bagel ever. Right after breakfast we caught a cab down to the water front so we could go on the circle line boat tour and see the statue of liberty. It was really cool to see the statue and if we go back we want to go to the top of it! This day was a little crazy right after the boat tour we took a bus to Grand Central station and had lunch and then right after that we went back to the hotel, changed our clothes and then hightailed it to the play West Side Story. We had a hard time sitting still in the play cause the seats were really close together so at half time we went and got a beer to relax and as we are coming around a corner we see an old lady with a really tight face lift and my mom says "did she just come out of a wind tunnel or something?" I lost it laughing I was doubled over and thought I would die.
After the play and switching clothes again we took the subway to a restaurant called Serendipity (I guess Oprah ate there and now its famous, but that's not why we went). We went cause our friend Betty told us they have the best desert there called frozen hot chocolate. We didn't end up getting that we ended up getting way too much. I got a pecan sundae and my mom got what they called pineapple upside down sundae it was sooo good. So good I felt sick!

Home!

This afternoon my mom and I left Boston to come back to LA! The flight coming home seemed to take ages. My dad was there to get us and all I have to say is it is really nice to be home. The vacation was really fun but anytime where you stay in different towns and different hotels it is a lot of work. I have 3 full days to get everything back in order before Grant comes for 3 weeks! There is so much that needs to be done it is insane, but I will post about our action packed trip starting tomorrow=)

On Vacation! East Coast!

Hello everyone!
My mom and I are in Mass, Plymouth. We started in NY on Friday we spent 3 nights there then drove to Cape Cod, Mass where we spent 2 nights and now we just arrived in Plymouth. We are going to walk across the street and see Plymouth rock and the May Flower (ship).

So far it has rained every single day we have been here! We only brought 2 pairs of pants each and no jackets, and because of too much laughing last night we each now only have one pair of pants left! hahhahahahaha

We have been eating a lot I guess there is not much else to do in the Rain! We are off to see the rock now!

Packed

So I packed all my clothes for the trip and it all barely fit in, I didn't think I had that much! We went and got some last minute snacks for the flight and some books to read and then my mom and dad went and dropped off my mom's car to get it fixed. Pretty much there is always something going on here! We are so excited about seeing NY and Boston and everything in between, its going to be a great adventure.

After visiting the neighbor and having her tell us that when they went a few years ago that my mom packed way too much that trip, I think I am going to go back through it all and take a bunch of stuff out. Our flight is at 7am so we have to be up and moving at 4am!

The sad thing is I won't be bringing my computer on my trip so I won't be able to blog, but I will try if there are any computer stations.
Look forward to a lot of really cool pictures and stories when I return!
Also Grant comes to visit 3 days after we get back and I can not wait!

Good Morning, Sun Shine

This morning I woke up really early 6am imagine that! Right after breakfast I continued my packing from last night. During a break in packing I did the Shred and walked on the treadmill. For some reason packing takes me forever when I am going on a vacation because it is really hard to decide now what you will feel like wearing when you get there. When packing for NZ it was easy, I just took everything! hahahaa minus the crap clothes.
Anyways soon my mom and I are going to go to target and the store to buys some snacks for the plane and a book and probably some stuff we don't need knowing us.

Here is me right before I did the shred DVD, which is not getting any easier.

but I am happy with how toned it is making me or rather I am making me?

Hopefully when I am done packing everything then I will have some spare time to get a little work done on my drawing!
P.S. Just a small note to Mel and Craig and Ruby, You guys are welcome for the baby clothes from the Olson clan. I hope some of them can fit and hopefully the bigger outfit will work for the summer!

A Long Day

Around 10 am my mom and I drove down to my Grandpa's house to meet Lynn(my step Grandma) and Sophia (my step cousin) for lunch and a quick stop off to fix something on Lynn's computer. Below is a picture of my Grandpa's house and a few of the inside.

We went to Ruby's diner for lunch and I had a really good chicken salad! It is Sophia's birthday on Saturday so we got her a barbie and a drawing set that she opened at lunch and really loved.

She is turning 5! When we dropped her off at home she showed us some of her moves before her gymnastics class.

I know I CAN'T do a kart wheel.
Below is my mom trying to fix Lynn's computer. It took forever and I fell asleep hahhaha.

because it took so long to fix the computer we got stuck in a little traffic on the way home but nothing bad.
video
It is now 7:40 pm and of course everything I wanted to do didn't get done! Mainly my drawing and my packing. But I am going to stay up and try on all my clothes tonight and screw the drawing I guess I will work on it if I have time, but I am not going to stress myself out.
