Up North Again

We are headed up north again for the long weekend. On Wednesday we looked at the weather and decided that it would not be nice enough to enjoy going, but yesterday the weather got better so we decided to go tonight.

I feel like I got a lot done today. I finished my drawing, got my WOF (warrant of fitness) for my car and it passed, I did my swim class, I did the grocery shopping, packed, made an appointment to get fingerprinted for immigration and called and talked to them.

I love when I get a lot of stuff done! When I get back it will be nothing but work and immigration time!

The Work Ahead

Man oh man! I just went on the NZ immigration site and called them to get the low down on what I am going to have to do to be able to stay here when my visa expires and honestly just the thought of it makes me want to take a nap!

I am going to have to fill out a ton of paper work, pay a lot of money and do two things that I just did last year. The full medical check and a police check from the USA.

I think back to last year and the amount of stress I went through to get all of this done and I have decided that during this application process I am not going to get stressed and I am not going to freak out, but as I type this I can feel my stress levels rising.

As I am typing this I just had the thought that I am visiting my family in May and that I will have to file the form ASAP and that my passport again will be with the application and how in the world will I be able to fly home with out my passport and how will I even go to Australia in April with out my passport or will I have to wait till after that to file the form! I am going to freakout!

OMG!

5 Min Till work

Ok I have 5 minutes till I have to leave to go to work boo!
Anyways I would have posted something last night if I didn't come home to the internet not working! This has to be one of the most annoying situations, if it happens this weekend I am seriously going to lose the plot!

OK now I am off to have two small children ask me five hundred and fifty thousand questions!
If all goes well after work I will be visiting Alina yay!

Hair Again

Wish I could have posted this sooner but guess what the internet was down again! I am going to stop getting so mad about it soon, but it is really hard to not get irritated when there are things to be done.

Mel cut my hair and it turned out great, we decided that fringe (bangs) would be a nice change.
Ruby is getting so much older! She can sit up on her own and she can stand with a little help.
It was great catching up with Mel and her kids, looks like they are having a good vacation from school. I remember having summer vacation when I was young and I recall my favorite thing to say was, "I'm Bored!" I am sure my mom remembers this as well. It is so hard to keep kids entertained and happy especially non stop for months, Mel was doing a great job!

Ruby is the most easy going and happy baby I have ever met, she is very calm and relaxed I hope when I have kids that is what they are like!
The New hair cut!

Hair

Today I am working on a drawing that has to be done within this week awwwww! Feel the stress hahahhahaha.

I am also going to get my hair done by Mel. It will be great to catch up and I will post some pictures of how I look when I get home.
For reference this is a current picture of my hair.
I am thinking about bangs? we will see.

Weekend

Last night we went for our second try to see Avatar. Thursday night I booked the tickets for imax, got ready, paid for parking, went out to dinner, and sat down to see the movie. The movie started out alright then all of a sudden every 60 or so seconds the sound would cut out. We watched about 5 min of the movie with the sounds cutting out before everyone got up in an angry mob and stormed out to get a refund.

I was so mad because although we got our ticket money back that didn't make up for the money spent on parking and food that we would have not eaten if we were not out for the night!

So I thought we will try again on Friday night, going to a different theater, only 3d.
The movie was really good, if you are into sci-fi and war type movies. I had to see it because everyone that I talked to said it was the best movie and that they have seen in a long time.

I liked it don't get me wrong, but I guess its just not my type of movie. I also felt like it was a little too long (try an hour) and also a little too predictable. The movie did have a good message and the graphics were incredible. Anyways so far today I have been to the mall to get a few gifts for some friends and now I am going to work on my drawing for a little while before we do the grocery shopping.

Post Four (and last) Vacation

Last Vacation post, but lucky for you we are going back up north next weekend for a few days so there will be more pretty photos!

This is the last chunk of our vacation before we had to head on home. Turns out my dates were wrong in the last post, oh well hahha. This is January 6th till we went home on January 9th.

On the 6th after we had fixed the tire we took the boat out again to do some more fishing. We each caught some kahawai and the next morning we smoked it and ate it for dinner.

It is always more fun when you are catching fish.

Ready to be smoked.

This is my favorite thing to do while up north, sit in this swing and read my book surrounded by the beautiful landscape!

On the 7th we took our last fishing trip and we decided to go out and try to find some snapper. The best time to go is right before the sun sets. Guess what? we didn't catch anything, well I take that back Grant caught 2 snapper but they were barley the legal limit for size and that will bring me to the next day. Because the fish were small which is suppose to be good eating they were impossible to cut up (we didn't have a good knife as well). After Grant threw a huge fit where at one point he threw part of the fish into the bush and told me he buried the knife we decided to bake the other fish and it turned out great! I told him next time we will just bake them to start with because it tasted so good.

Because we came home from this trip in the dark and the tide had gone out we didn't see that there were small rocks until we heard a huge clunk and scrape noise! Oh boy! We then had to jump out into the water waist high and try to guide the boat to an area where there were less rocks, lets just say it wasn't very fun and turned out to be a big GF (a term my family uses). Turned out the boat was fine, thank goodness.
Crocket left early in the morning on the 8th leaving Grant and I all alone, the whole day was spent doing the massive clean up, and I mean massive! Boxes of bottles and cans to be recycled and huge bags of trash that has to be loaded up and brought to the tip. Clean the whole boat and put it away in the garage (with Grant driving and me guiding it in the garage you can guess how that turned out but we got it done). Putting everything away and cleaning kitchen and bathroom and loading the car, it took the whole day.
So for dinner we celebrated with some drinks and the fish we baked.
Here we are last night.

I was so sad that we had to leave and go back to work, but because I was promised that we would be going back up soon I didn't get too worried.

On the 9th we dropped off the trash turned everything off locked up and drove home.
Here are our sad faces cause we don't want to leave! and mainly we don't want to go back to work ahhahahah!

A whole lot fatter and tanner we returned home to start up the normal day to day routine.

Post Three Vacation

Vacation days January 3rd till I am not sure, maybe the 8th? Lets just say there will be one more post after this.

The dates on when we did certain things has become confusing, but I don't really think it matters anyways. We spent one whole day at the local rodeo and the whole reason we went was on new years eve some one told us all the freaks will be there. It was a small town rodeo and it was Grant's first hahahaha. We had a good time and it turned out that a lot of the people that we spent new years with were there too!

They are wearing pink cause it was a breast cancer fund raiser.

That night we made some yummy drinks

and we cooked up the fish we caught the day before

Yum yum drunk drunk

The next day we went fishing.

watch where your casting

I caught 2 kahawai (not sure on spelling)

On our way home we got a flat tire on the trailer and went through a lot to get the spare tire only to have that go flat too, but it wasn't a huge problem because I just started drinking hahahha.
The next day we were able to go into town and have it repaired.

Above Grant is problem solving.
Below Crocket caught the weird orange thing.

Shadow pics

The next day we went for a drive to the top of a mountain to get a wonderful 360 view of the harbor and bays.

There will still be one more post of the vacation, hopefully I can do that tomorrow night after work.
Work today has made me super tired and I think I am going to sleep early tonight.

Weekend Trip

Te Ari is the first beach we stopped at on our way up north. We were trying to see if the waves were any good, and the decision was no.

Below Rarawa is where we ended up camping and turned out that the waves there were not big enough either.

Taken from a giants point of view

We set up the tent and the next day we decided cause of the lack of waves that we would take it down and head home.
