Blogger Comment Pop Up Window

First off, if you don't have a blog then this post probably will not apply to you, Sorry!
I know I don't have a lot of followers on this blog, but I hope this goes out to a few people who will change their blogger comment format.

If you have a blogger blog please please please change your comment format.

This is extremely easy!

All you have to do it
  1. go to your dashboard
  2. click design
  3. click the settings tab
  4. click the comments option
  5. under the option Comment Form Placement click pop-up window
  6. at the bottom of the page click save settings
Yes it is that easy.
This will make it so much easier for everyone to leave comments on your blog and I am not sure if anyone has noticed blogger is having a problem with their normal comment format where it makes you sign in a thousand times and never leaves the comment!  By changing it to the pop - up format all the comment problems are solved!

I beg you, give it a try, that way I can leave you a comment =)

3 Years

As I was driving to work today I started thinking, its been 3 years since I first moved to New Zealand.
 (first post ever)
May 23, 2008 I got on a plane, while crying a lot, and flew to NZ.  I didn't know what to expect or how it would go.  I truly wondered if I would ever stop crying.

So much has changed since first moving here, I am a completely different person.  Before moving here I really didn't have much confidence in my self and I would have considered myself someone who didn't like change in life.

Once I arrived and started living in NZ I realized quite a lot about myself, I actually do like change!
I realized I can live without my family and friends (although I miss them everyday) and I can live without all the material things that I had in my room back in CA.  I also realized that when it comes to meeting new people you really have to put yourself out there and try, same philosophy for getting a job and a place to live.

SO now that I am planning on moving back to the USA, I know there is nothing to worry about.  I just need to remember if I can move to a new country and find a job, place to live, and friends, I can do the same thing when I move home.

The Hangover 2 Review

Last night we went to see the Hangover 2.
I must say I was a little disappointed.  I guess I heard from a lot of reviews, people on the radio and TV saying that the second movie was better than the first!
Going into the movie thinking this is going to be funnier than the first movie was probably not a good idea.
I won't give anything away in case you are going to see the movie, but lets just say imagine the exact plot and characters from the first movie but instead of being in Vegas they are in Bangkok.

The jokes were not as funny as the first movie and everything that happened was very predictable.
I guess I should have expected that the second movie would not be as good as the first, but I thought they might go out on a limb and really change it up, but sadly that did not happen.

Don't get me wrong the movie was still entertaining!
After the movie we went out for a few drinks.
All in all it was a fun night =)

On Monday USA time I am doing my first GIVEAWAY!

Over at Vintage Wanna Bee I am giving away one print from my Etsy store.

I am really excited about the giveaway, it should be fun to see how many people are interested in my art.

Fantastic Friday

Friday was Nellie's last day of her internship at work.
It was sad to see her go.  She is from Germany and has been interning where I work for the last few months.
(pictured above Waana, Me, and Nellie)

For work we had to get this huge map of NZ and put pins where all the companies that we work with are.
I thought it would be a good idea to pose with the maps since we are in NZ and not from here.

When Grant gets home from work this is what he looks like! Covered in mud!
He is working on fixing up a house that had a fire, and they are digging under the house.
Mud everywhere!
Friday night we went to a party that was at the house that Grant helped build, kind of an open house.
We arrived, took off our shoes so we didn't get dirt in the house, got a beer, and started walking down the stairs.  Next thing I know Grant slips and falls down all the stairs! Thumping down the whole way spilling beer everywhere in the brand new house!
I wish I had video cause it was super funny.

Saturday, this morning we woke up and had to go grocery shopping before breakfast cause we had no food! Nothing not even milk or bread.
Since shopping Grant has been painting and I have been cleaning.
Below is the state of my finger nail! Its finally falling off.  I smashed it in the car door in March and now in May its falling off, yuck.

Grant's painting is going really well!

In a few minutes we are taking off to see the hangover 2, I hope its good.

Working day and Night

I wore this the other day when it wasn't raining!
That is right it rained all day today.

Some really good news is we got some more information about Grant's visa, hence the title of the blog.
Yesterday I worked all day at my job and all night getting all the visa forms sorted out.
I didn't get to sleep till after 1130pm (that is late for me)
This is the new shirt I got from my mom.
Thank you I love it!
I hope all this visa stuff gets sorted out soon because it really stresses me out!

M- Day

I haven't been doing many outfit posts because I feel everyone has seen everything I wear hahaha
Also I have been pretty unmotivated when it has come to putting looks together.
It has been pretty cold the last few days so if I wear a skirt I have been wearing my wool tights.
They are warmer than wearing pants!
I am having a serious case of the Moday's!
Its not good lol.

Tell Me it isn't so

Someone please tell me that another weekend has not flown by!
I really don't even know what I did, but its 10:30 pm on Sunday and work starts again tomorrow!

On Saturday we met up with Adam and Kerry, some friends we met in Australia, for a beer.  They were in town for the weekend, and it was really nice to catch up with them.

Today, Sunday, I started the day by going through a bunch of my stuff that I have been collecting over the past 3 years and separating it into piles.  I ended up giving a whole trunk load of furniture and junk to the good will.

I also sold 3 things on trade me (the NZ version of e-bay) a painting, a lamp, and a fish mirror!
I feel so much better getting rid of stuff that we can't take with us to CA.
After dropping all the junk off we went to a few of our friends houses to say hi and then we ended up bowling.  Guess who won both games?  ME.. OH yeah I beat 2 guys 2 times in a row, that never happens!

3 Items down a million to go!

NEWS Big Big NEWS!!!

I have been holding in this information for a long time and the more I think about it the more I want to tell everyone.  Soooo I have decided that I am just going to say it!

We are moving from NZ to the USA this year!

We do not know when it will actually happen, but I can say it will be sooner than later!

I have already started selling some of the stuff we don't need.
Moving to a different country is a big big deal so there will be a lot of adjusting even if it is the country that I am from.

Here is a list of thoughts that are constantly floating around in my head:
  • Start selling everything that we don't need to use
  • Don't buy anything new (even clothes because you will have to get rid of it)
  • Find a way to fit a whole life into 4 bags that can be checked on an air plane
  • Look for affordable flights
  • Find a way to save money for the moving
When we get to CA there will be even more changes
Jobs, houses, and much much more!

Windy Wednesday

Its actually not super windy, but I started thinking I might use double W's on Wednesdays.
Pretty clever!

So today was pretty much like any other work day.
Drive to work, work, drive home.
One exciting thing, Grant did the shopping!  He only forgot cheese, granola bars, got the wrong yogurt and the wrong cereal, but at least I didn't have to do it and it won't kill me to eat things I don't really love.
Above is me on my way out to the car.

Above is my car.
Your my boy blue!

I am almost done reading this book, Twenty Times a Lady.
I would have to say this book was entertaining, but seemed to have the same story line that hundreds of other books have.  I did laugh a few times but other than that it wasn't excellent.

Happy Wednesday!

Art Project

I was given 2 plain brown frames from work.
So I decided to paint them white, but then I realized that we had silver paint!
So after a coat of white I did a coat of silver.

I framed 2 prints of my show paintings.
These will soon be on sale on my etsy account.

The paintings look great in the silver frames!

So last night we had a work gathering.
We decided to go out to dinner at a German restaurant.
The food was really good.

Below are some of my co-workers
They ended their meal with shots yum.
I am not in any photos cause I was taking them.
Peter forgot his glasses so Grant tried them on lol

The Story of the Rat

This story began on the night of April 15th.
I had made cookies for Grant's birthday and a rat came down in the middle of the night and thought, hmm this is my lucky day! Chocolate cookies all for me.
So soon after that day we bought a rat trap and started setting it each night.

After a week of not catching the rat we thought maybe it left so we stopped setting the trap.
Two days ago I went in the kitchen before work to make breakfast and saw that 1/2 a banana was gone, peel and all!  So I said the rat is back.
That night we forgot to set the trap and the next day I wake up and part of my mango that I waited 4 days to ripen was eaten!
Mango eaten and teeth marks on all the bananas!
So last night I said set that trap, we can't afford to feed this rat.
Guess what we caught the rat!
In the middle of the night we heard the snap and some wrestling around and in the morning the rat was there dead!

If you are freaked out by pictures of dead rats don't look down!!!

I know you looked lol
When I saw this I really felt bad!
Grant said it was a girl rat, its too bad we couldn't have caught it alive and let it free outside.
At least now I don't have to be scared every time I go in the kitchen.

Hit The Hump

Today is hump day!
For some reason this is a slow week, it feels like it is just dragging on and on.

This is what I wore on Monday, back when it wasn't raining and super windy.
I decided that I can still wear skirts without tights because it is not super cold yet.

At night when its cold we have started to make fires and I found my socks that make my feet look like hands.

The last few days my family back home have been having lots of gatherings that I am left out of because of living in NZ.  On Sunday they all went to Hollywood and then to my cousins house for a party.
On Monday they all went to Disney Land because there are some friends visiting, and today they all went down to the beach to a big market place.
I feel like I am really missing out and it makes me want to move home right now.

In the mean time in NZ I have just been going to work and Grant and I have been walking/jogging every night to stay in shape.  I am already looking forward to the weekend.

Mother's Day

My Mom is Great!
Here are a few things that I love about my mom that you probably don't know:
She is one of the funniest people in the world, really, she could have been a stand up comedian.
She always helps everyone, even if you don't want the help, she is there to HELP.
She seems to always be right.
She can find anything, really!  I have searched for a shirt for an hour before and she found it in 2 minutes.
She is never in a bad mood.
She always has good advise, for instance if you have been dumped that means you need a piece of pie.
If you are sad and crying really hard she can make you laugh.
She points out the obvious even when you also see it, she will still point it out.
She loves to have a good time.
She can solve any problem, especially when it comes to computers and relationships.
Her best relationship advise was dump him before he dumps you. It is always better to be the dumper than the dumped!
Another great bit of advise that I think of more and more as I get older is; enjoy everyday right now as you are because you will look back in a year at pictures of yourself and think I looked great why was I so worried about what I looked like?

So really what I am trying to say is I love my mom and I miss her everyday, since I live in NZ!
She is my best friend =)

Miss you!

Who is the Dork?

Saturday, we went for a jog during the day and I cleaned the house.
Around 7pm we went to a friends house party.
Grant and his friends were told it was a fluro (florescent colors) party.
I didn't know this so I wore a normal outfit.  When we got to his friends house before the party, Mike had a shirt for Grant to wear!

All I have to say is thank god I didn't wear any fluro!  Because everyone at the party was dressed normal ahahhaaaa.
Grant found a mask that sorta looks like him, if he turned into the hulk.

Mike is the one pictured in the bight green shorts and Grant is to the right in the bright tye dye.
The guy to the left of them, they decided looks like Edward scissor hands.
They were both saying "look he looks so funny lets stand next to him and take a picture cause he looks so funny!"

Now if you ask me I think with the 2 of them standing next to the "Edward Scissor Hands Man" makes him look normal and themselves look crazy.

You tell me who is the bigger dork?

This morning so far I have decided to paint some brown frames silver, so I can put some of my art in them.
I found out from my mom that they are having a huge party tomorrow for Mothers Day!
I can't believe I am missing another fun event because I am stuck in NZ.
Well not for long...

I spent probably 3 hours last night trying to add a few new gadgets to my blog.
3 HOURS!!!!  It started out as a simple task, I decided that I wanted to put a blog roll on my side bar so all my readers could see some of the blogs that I follow on a daily baisis.  Adding the blog roll was simple, the hard part was when I decided to add the Link Within gadget.  That is the gadget that shows 3 older posts at the bottom of the current post.  It was easy to add, but when I clicked on a post the new gadget got in the way of my comments!

I thought ...hmmm, I will google how to fix that problem.  After trying 3 different sites suggestions of changing some html, and it not working, I felt like I was going insane!  Every time I changed the html and it didn't work then I had to go back and undo what I did and try something else.

Finally when I was about to give up I came across a suggestion that worked!
Here is the link in case anyone has this same problem.

I really need to learn a little about html because I have a feeling it would make working on my blog much easier!

And that is how a computer dork spends her Friday night!

Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday I wore this and I would put it into the FAIL category!
I bought this dress at a thrift store and decided that I would wear it with tights and a shirt because it is cold out.  Well I get to work and see there is a hole in the back of the dress.

The good thing is I felt the dress was too long anyways so I am going to hem it, which will cover the hole

Today I wore my new shirt from my mom.

Looking at these pictures I have realized that I need to trim my bangs because they are out of control.

Today is Cinco de Mayo and I wish we were going out, but I think we will stay home.
The fact is that in NZ no one really celebrates the event, so I guess I am not missing anything by not going out.  I do think back to when I was in College and all the fun we had going out on Cinco de Mayo...

Surprise...Ants and a Tornado

I got home from work, called Grant to tell him he forgot to take the rubbish out so now we have to wait till next week, and he asks me if I am OK because there has just been a huge tornado that went right by where we live!  I must have been leaving work right as it hit and thankfully missed the whole thing.

When I was talking to Grant on the phone I saw some ants on the floor and followed their little trail and found hundreds in the house!
Our floor is excellent ant camouflage because they were hard to see.
The weird thing was the ants were not doing anything, just walking around in circles.
They must be the dumbest ants ever because I wouldn't call our floor clean, especially when I was getting down on the floor to suck them up with the vacuum.

Here is a picture of the tornado taken from the news station.  Two people are dead and there are cars flipped upside down and the roof is missing off the mall.  I keep looking out the window worried that there will be another one!  When will the natural disasters stop?

Its Here...Monday

Its Monday again, I don't know if it is just me but the weekend goes by really fast.
I only left the house once this weekend on Sunday.
Grant and I decided to work out, we went to a near by park and jogged.
After the jog I made scones, they weren't the best, but pretty good.
All weekend I painted and relaxed.
Lately I have been painting whatever I feel like.  Before I always painted something I thought might sell or did paintings for people, but right now I am just painting whatever pops in my head, or anything I am visually attracted to.

Macaroons and Ice cream hmm maybe I was hungry?
Today was Monday again so I decided to wear the new shirt my mom sent me.
I love it and it fits great, Thanks mom!
The cute detail is on the back but I forgot to take a pic so maybe next time.
Happy new shirt =)
When driving home I heard on the radio that someone we all hate is dead.
That is right, no one will miss Osama Bin Laden!
