Day 16 and a Wild Weekend

Day 16 – A photo of something that means a lot to you.
Grant means a lot to me.
Since I am soon to be moving over seas again I have found material things mean literally nothing to me.
At first when going through all my clothes my main thought was I need this or I really like this and don't want to get rid of it, but now my main thought is I don't need any "stuff" and everything can be replaced!

Weekend Recap!

So much happened this weekend.
Saturday morning we sold my car.
Saturday night we went to a friends house warming party, lets just say the party started at 4pm and ended around 2am so things got a little out of hand. Sunday morning when I went on face book there was a comment from the party giver saying that she will never have a party at her house again.

I know from the experience of having one party at my flat with the same people that the parties always get wild and your house gets ruined.
It took me a whole week to clean my house after the party and months later I was still finding small balls that were flung everywhere when a maraca was broken!

Grant finished his painting and gave it to his good friend Crockett

First we watched the All Blacks game
All Blacks WON!!!!

Then the Dress up box came out!

Then we all danced and drank

At the end 2 people got in a fight and we left.

On Sunday we met Tom our friend the photographer at the Auckland Domain for a photo session.
This time the photos were only of me!
He needs to get some pictures for his portfolio and I am happy to help, I think its fun!

Here is one Grant took of me being a poser.

And here is one of the artist in action.

Day 15

Day 15 – 15 facts about you.

Ok here we go!

  1. I was on the swim team and water polo team in high school (I was horrible at water polo)
  2. I have a super sense of smell ( I can smell things others can't... lucky?)
  3. I combine weird foods like cottage cheese and apple sauce
  4. I hate washing my make up off only to have to put more on!
  5. I have to floss my teeth, if I feel something in between my teeth it drives crazy
  6. I love reading, drawing, writing, and painting
  7. I can always find something to entertain myself with.. there is no such thing as I am bored!
  8. I don't really "get" facebook, but I have it anyways
  9. I love coming up with cute outfits to wear, but I find it very tiresome
  10. I love slap stick comedy, someone falling into a kid pool or people crashing into each other
  11. I love to travel, but it stresses me out at the same time
  12. I make lists for everything, shopping, ideas, to do, packing etc
  13. I must have everything organized and I hate miss placing things or losing stuff
  14. I can not read a book if there is some sort of background noise like tv or radio going on
  15. I find most shows on tv very annoying and would rather do something else than watch crap tv shows
Last night we went to a friends house warming party that got a little out of control and this afternoon I got some photos taken with a friend who is buffing up his photo portfolio, but those will become separate posts.
Happy Weekend

Day 13

Day 13 – The meaning behind your blog name.

This is an easy one, my blog is called Talks a Lot, and the simple answer is I talk a lot.
In person, I am not one of those annoying people who talk a lot, just to hear themselves talk, I don't even talk all that much especially if I don't know you, but I talk a lot on the blog, and I write a lot.
I have soooo many journals!  I find when I write something down it can leave my brain and allow me to think about more important things.

The Big Move

We have moved out of our flat and into Grant's dads house!

I would just like to say that I hate moving.  There is so much to organize and so much physical work.
From 8am till 830pm we were; dropping junk at the thrift store, making trips to Grant's dads, going to the dump, and cleaning the flat.

Our last job of the night was to drop off 2 couches and 2 recliners to Grant's friends house, we had to make 2 trips and it was only him and I doing all the lifting and moving.  My back is hurting today!

Here is the flat while some of the moving was going on.

Here is the kitchen after the Fridge and washer were picked up.

Here is our empty bedroom (happy to never see that place again, such a cold damp house!)

Here we are dancing in our empty living room.

One funny thing that happened on one of our drop offs was Grant opened the closet in the room we are staying in at his dads and said my blanky!
His baby blanket was in the closet!
He said he had the blue one and Adam (his brother) had a red one.

One week till we are in California =)

Day 12

Day 12– Something you crave a lot.

Now this is a hard one! There is not much that I crave, but I would say if we are talking about food, I crave something sweet at the end of the night after dinner.  It doesn't have to be any certain thing but I do need something.  Maybe a cookie, or Chocolate, or ice cream but I almost always want to have something sweet!

The other thing I crave is hugs!
I love a real hug, not the fake kind where some one just taps you on the shoulder, but a real hug!

Today we are moving out of our house, only 10 days left in New Zealand!

Day Eleven

Day 11 – Another picture of yourself.

So here is another picture of myself and convienently it is also what I wore Wednesday!
I am combining a lot of different blacks and I am not really sure if its working.
I have always struggled with mixing black with black.

Over the weekend I did a painting of these really cute shoes, I wish I owned them!

Happy Hump day and my Last day of Work!

Day Ten

Day 10 – A photo of you and your family.

This is a picture from OCT 2009 on my birthday.
Both of my parents were visiting me in NZ and crazily enough I was unable to find a more recent picture with all 3 of us!
We pretty much look the same, I think we might all be a little thinner (that might just be my imagination)
and of course my hair is longer now but really we look the same.

12 days till I get to see my family again!

Day Nine

Day 9 – Something you don’t leave the house without.

It is rare when I leave the house without my purse.
It isn't always this exact purse but it is always some sort of bag with all my junk in it.
In NZ they call a purse a hand bag =)

2 more days of work

Auckland...Day Eight

I am going to play a little numbers game!

  • 3 more days of work.
  • 6 more days of living where we are now
  • 15 more days till we are in California!

Day 8– A photograph of the town you live in.

I live in the beautiful city of Auckland New Zealand.
If you have never been to New Zealand then you are missing out.  It is one of the most beautiful places in the world.  When I first arrived here 3 years ago I was amazed everyday at the blue sky and how green the grass is.  The colors here a bright and crisp, probably the prettiest landscape and beaches I have ever seen.

Every time I tell someone here that I am moving back to CA they ask me why???
Then they ask won't you miss NZ?
My answer is yes of course I will miss the beauty and laid back nature of NZ, but not as much as I miss my friends and family who live in California nothing can replace the people you love!

Day Seven

Day 7 – What’s in your makeup bag?

Here is my beautiful make up bag that my mom got me from LANCOME!
I wear LANCOME mascara, eye shadow, blush and eyeliner.
I also have Neutrogena face make up and powder that I wear everyday.
I have LANCOME lipstick and gloss, but it is rare that I wear anything on my lips besides chapstick.

I love tweezerman! If there is nothing to do you can always pluck hairs from your face and eyebrows.

I love make up and getting all done up, but I equally like to be able to have a clear clean face!
I try to wear make up everyday that I go to work so I don't look like I just rolled out of bed, but the weekends when I am just at home and not partying, I like to give my face a make up "rest".

Happy Weekend

Day Six

Day 6 – A photo of the item you last purchased.

Since we are moving I have not bought anything but food in a long time.
So I thought I will show some pictures of all the Crap precious items that we are giving away to the thrift store.

Another huge bag of my clothes!
All our bed linen and my iron and ironing board
Plus a lot more, but I doubt anyone wants to see pictures lol.

This is what the weather in Auckland has been like for the past few days.
Gloomy and rainy, I guess that is what we get in winter!

Day Five

Day 5 – A song to match your mood.

Ok today's song has to be:
Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses
  • It was an ugly rainy day
  • There was a ton of traffic before and after work
  • Someone tried to scam me through selling our car on trade me (I am too smart to fall for that)
  • I overhauled my whole blog and it was a lot of work!
  • And final reason I heard it on the way home

Day Four

Day 4 – A photo of yourself two years ago.

A good thing about having a blog is you can find what you were doing 2 years ago to the day!
I was back home in CA after a full year of being in NZ.
Grant was visiting for 3 weeks and obviously from the picture above we were having an awesome time!

The Challenge

What I Wore

What to wear when you have given away almost all your clothes?
Anything that can go together and not look horrible!
Look how wrinkled my pants are, that is what happens when you hang dry clothes.

I love sweaters with lace as the backing!
We got our first congratulations card for our engagement from Grant's Aunt and Uncle.
I love getting cards in the mail.

Day 3 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend.

My best friend is my mom!
No surprise there for anyone who knows me.
This is a picture of my mom when we were waiting for our flight to NY.
I think this is an excellent photo of her, she looks very pretty as usual.

Can't wait to get home and laugh with you!
Only 20 days till I fly home.

Day Two

Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.

I get off work at 3pm every day and I usually get hungry when I get home.
Most days I eat some of these rice crackers for a snack and drink sprite zero.
My mom loves it when I talk to her through the headset on skype while crunching away on these crackers...

20 Day Challenge...Day ONE

I have decided to do the 20 Day Challenge.  You may be wondering why 20 days and not 30 like everyone else who does the 30 day challenge (or you might not be wondering that lol).  I have 20 days left in NZ so I am going to try to do a post for everyday that I have left here... we will see how it goes. =)

Day One - A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

This is a picture of me from yesterday, but I look the same today...messy
My day was good, for a lazy Sunday.
I babysat last night so I slept in today till about 11am, later than I would have wanted to.
Grant and I made pan cakes for breakfast which was more like lunch time by the time we ate.
I then spent time on the computer talking to my mom and doing some research on etsy.
I have had a head ache all day so far, nothing is helping.
For a mid afternoon snack I had 2 cookies.
I have just printed some photos out that I plan on painting which I will be starting in about 10 minutes.
We are making stir fry for dinner and the rest of the night will be spent painting =)

Freaking Friday

Finally its Friday!
This work week really seemed to drag on.

The good thing is we did quite a lot each night this week.
Wednesday we met some friends at a bar for a quiz night (we came in third).
Thursday we went to a bar and met some friends for a birthday party.
All of Grant's friends feel we should have some sort of mock wedding here before we go.
I would do something but in all honestly I just do not have the energy to put together a party before we leave.

I am so focused on us moving and packing and ending everything here that it is hard to think about a party.
The good thing is one of our friends mentioned a party she might be having, so we can just go and say our good byes then. =)

What I wore last night.
And yes we do have party flags hanging in our house, and no there is no

I added this photo because I know you love looking at me... just kidding! I actually tried some cat eyes.
What do you think?
Grant didn't even notice ahhahaha.

16 Days Till We Move!

What I wore Wednesday!
I should dress up more to work, but in my defense I don't have much to choose from since we are moving.

I love this sweater my mom got for me because it has lace in the back.

When I left for work I was wearing a sweater over this and a jacket over that.
It is officially winter here in NZ!

I thought I would share a watercolor I did a little while ago, but never posted.
I think these shoes are so cute, I found the picture on a blog and thought, what a cute look.
So I painted them =)
Happy Hump Day!

Engagement Photos

We got our engagement photos (I guess that is what we should call them) back!

I love them =)

Everyone who knows Grant and I knows how hard it is to get a good photo of us so I am super impressed our friend Tomas was able to get so many great photos.
About a week ago we went to Piha beach with Alina and Tomas and spent a while posing as if we are models.

I didn't put all of the pictures up because everyone is probably already bored of looking at us.
The one I really love of us we are using for our wedding invite so it will remain a secret until its posted out!

Our friend Tomas took all of these awesome photos of us.
Check out his website below!
