Its Getting Hot in Here

These last few days have led me to believe I am either walking on the sun or we are living in an oven.
It has been really really hot!  I am talking like 100 to 105 degrees and it never cools down.
We have had to run the air in out bedroom all night for the last 3 days and I am really scared to see the electric bill.  If there is a breeze its the same feeling as when you are cooking with the oven and you open that door and feel the hot air hit your face.  But besides the heat the sky has been really clear and blue in the mornings.  This is my drive to work!
This has been a week of a lot of emotion.  My good friend at work was let go!  It was kind of a shock to everyone and no one agrees with the reasons including some of the upper management it seems, but I guess it just comes down to stupid policies.  I will miss her soo much!  I know we will stay really good friends but it will be sad that I won't get to chat with her everyday and laugh and have her help at work.  I know work just won't be the same without her there and that is a real downer!
I try not to think too much about it cause I hate crying!

In better news we got out scentsy in today so I will be delivering it to everyone who came to my party.
Everything smells soo good I can't wait to plug it in!
Here is a picture of me and my friend on the last day. I had to cut off our bodies because it was not good. I know I am pregnant but it still was not good lol.  Take a good look at my hair cause I am getting it cut today and I can't wait.  Its been really really bad! Between the grow out of the color and this cut that seems to not be growing out very well I am over it!  I am going a little shorter and hopefully more stylish.

Blogtember: A September blog challenge

I decided to take part in Blogtember: A September blog challenge, the challenge is to try to write a post everyday excluding weekends.  The topics I write about are below!  Should be fun =)

(ps this is a photo from 2011)

Tuesday, Sept. 3: Describe where or what you come from. The people, the places, and/or the factors that make up who you are.
Wednesday, September 4: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do? (bonus points for fun photos from Pinterest, but don't forget to cite the source!)
Thursday, September 5: Pass on some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered.
Friday, September 6: A story about a time you were very afraid.
Monday, September 9: Take this short personality test and respond to your results. (at the end, find the detailed profile of your personality account - click "click to view" under "You" and "self awareness and personal growth." You can even google your type and find more info on it!)
Tuesday, September 10: Describe a distinct moment when your life took a turn.
Wednesday, September 11: Share links to your favorite online shops, preferably with a few photos of your favorite items in each shop.
Thursday, September 12: Discuss ways that blogging or social media has changed you.
Friday, September 13: A self portrait
Monday, September 16: Write a public love letter to someone in your life. (It doesn't necessarily need to be romantic.)
Tuesday, September 17: A memory you would love to relive.
Wednesday, September 18: Only photos
Thursday, September 19: Creative writing day: write a (very short) fictional story that starts with this sentence: "To say I was dreading the dinner party would be the understatement of the century."
The story does not necessarily need to have a conclusion - you can leave your readers wishing for more!
Friday, September 20: React to this term: comfort.
Monday, September 23: A "life lately" post. What you're up to, how you're feeling, how you're doing on your goals, etc. Bonus points for great photos!
Tuesday, September 24: Review a book, place, or product.
Wednesday, September 25: Write about a time you screwed up - a mistake you made.
Thursday, September 26: Go to a coffee shop. Order a favorite drink. Write about what makes you happy and what makes you sad. Or write about anything you'd like! Bonus points for including a photo from the coffee shop. (I recommend downloading Ommwriter and bringing headphones along!) *if you can't make it to a coffee shop, at least leave your usual space and write someplace new.
Friday, September 27: An anonymous letter to your Facebook friends. Be as snarky as you'd like. (but don't include people's real names.)
Monday, September 30: Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has personal history for you, that was passed down to you, and that has special meaning to you. Tell us about it and why it's special.

House Updates

I feel like I have been sleeping a lot lately, but surprisingly when I look back at my photos I see we actually have accomplished quite a lot.  Just last weekend Grant finally got the fan in the down stairs bathroom working so we no longer have to have the front door open as our way of airing out the bathroom and we put up a security screen, painted the front door and installed a new mail box.  I do have to admit a lot of this work was happening while I was sleeping but I did go on many of the trips to home depot and lowes to buy return and buy again these products, and most importantly I was there to clean up after all the "construction" dust settled.  I also prepared all the yummy meals needed to keep him going! All in all it is a team effort.

 Mail box before
and mail box after!
I love that it locks because on days where we don't get any mail I don't have to wonder if someone stole it or some kids messed with it.

Above is the ugly and dirty front door that stuck out like a sore thumb
and Below is our door painted and new door handles installed!
Grant said hopefully over time we can get rid of all the ugly brass door knobs.
I have also been working on the drawings for the California Hot Rod Reunion.  I have 2 done and about 4 to go!  I really need to work double time to get it done.
Finally tonight's dinner it was sooo good!

Only 2 more days to till the weekend!

What I Wore Wednesday

So I am officially 13 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I have to say so far it has not been to much fun.
I never knew being pregnant made you feel so awful.  Every day I have a stomach ache all day and to try to make myself feel better I have to snack constantly.  I guess when your blood sugar gets low it makes you feel even more sick. I have never eaten so much in my entire life and believe me its not the fun kind of eating because normally I don't even feel hungry, but I have tried not eating and it makes me feel worse lol.  Anyways I am hoping that in the next few weeks this feeling goes away because its really hard to be happy and excited when you constantly feel sick. (I am thankful that I am not more sick, but really I am over it).

I have officially started wearing my pregnancy clothes, mainly just pants because all my normal pants were very tight and for me wearing them low with a rubber band holding them together just is not my thing.  So here it is I am barely showing but I am happy to have stretchy pants!

Happy Wednesday!

P.S.  Since being pregnant it feels like time is moving slower than ever, I have a feeling these next 6 months will feel like 6 years.

Finished Bedroom

We have finally finished our bedroom!  Since we moved in we said we will do our bedroom last because we spend the least amount of time in that room and that is the least seen room.  So once we had most of the major things done down stairs we decided it was time.  The first thing that had to be done was replacing the windows.  They were from probably 30 years ago and they let all the heat in and were so bad you could barely see out of them.  So about 3 weeks or maybe 4 after we started this project we are finally finished.

Before horrible windows and window covers that were left from the people who moved out.

Below you can also see the ugly green wall paint and patches that were left by the previous owners.

Below are the after pictures.  Our beautiful new windows and blinds.
This area below is not completely done we are thinking we will put a large mirror on that far wall and that is my sewing desk, because now that I am pregnant the sewing guest room is now becoming the baby room and the office is now becoming the guest and office room.
The blue walls were also suppose to be a little less blue and a little more grey but I really like them so far and it we ever get sick of it we can always paint again.

It feels really good to have this room finally done.  Now my goal is to switch around the guest and office room and start on the baby's closet, it needs a lot of work!

Better Late...

We have spent the last 3 weekends working on our bedroom and its finally done.  I just have to remember to take some good after pictures because right now this is all I have lol.

Last Sunday we went to Dean's 5th birthday party.  All the kids played the fun party games like three legged race and pin the nose on the clown, it was really neat to see kids still having fun with the old time games.
Then it was fun to watch the adults have fun doing the games lol!

Whats a party without the pinata!
Here are all the cousins and Hazel!  It turned out to be a really warm day and I kinda wish I had worn a short dress rather than the long one.
Dean is soo funny when everyone was singing he get really shy and just froze, like if he didn't move then no one saw him.  Must be scary to have a lot of people singing at you!

Here is my mom with her mini me Hazel, those two are like peas in a pod!
