The Bike you see here was stolen yesterday out of our garage! Not only was my bike stolen, but so was Grant's black bike! It really makes me mad because whoever took our bikes had to go into our garage and move a bunch of junk and take them, it couldn't have been easy.
The really weird thing is on the side of our place there is a fence where all the garbage cans are and someone has been stashing bikes there. They don't belong to any of the neihbors we have asked, the bike might be there for one day or two then it is gone and there will be another one there. I told the police about our stolen bikes and the bikes that are left there and they said there is not much they can do. I was told that I can tell them my serial number on the bike and that they can enter it into some system but I doubt that is going to make any sort of difference. I am just happy we are moving soon, if we were living there longer I was thinking about setting up a camera and filming the area to try to catch the person because they must steal 5 bikes a week!
I just got home today from working in Chicago for the last week.
It was a great show and I loved Chicago. There is so much to do there and I can tell it seems like a great summer city! The fact that it was freezing made it hard to do anything outside. I am talking 9 degrees! Cold!
The first full day we were there after we set up our booth we headed out to lunch at the Ralph Lauren restaurant, I guess its the only one and very few people know about it. The food was great and the place was really cool.
It was freezing!
On our walk back to the hotel we saw this huge famous sculpture nick named the Bean. It reflects the whole city and its awesome!
Us in the reflection.
Here I am taking pics of myself one morning before the show.
Our Third day there it snowed!
Here is a picture of the snow after we got back from dinner at Quartino, the best Italian I have ever had! Delicious!
The Show flew by and before I knew it we were headed back to the airport.
Now I am home and washing all my clothes to get ready for work tomorrow.
Good thing is Grant kept the house clean and tidy so I don't have to do any cleaning.
In March we will be moving into a new place! I can't wait and I have been on Pinterest marking all sorts of decorating ideas for the new place. Of course this will be an on going project that will probably take a lot of time and effort. To start out we will just move all the furniture that we already have into the place and then we will see what works to slowly switch things out.
I really want to get a bar cart for our dinning room because I think it would be so cool for when we have a party!
Below is how I would like to set up our guest room, not the color scheme, but maybe a day bed and some shelving and a TV just in case we ever have a guest over, or in case someone needs a break and wants to watch something else on TV.
I plan to have Grant convert part of our room into a closet similar to the picture below and on the right.
Below are some ideas for our office/ Craft room. I plan to have that room function for the computer, paint room and sewing room. Luckily that room has a pretty large closet!
I feel like once we move it will be so much easier to get art done and really everything! It will also be easier to have people over and maybe some of Grant's family and friends could come over and visit us!

Today is Sunday! This morning we got up and Grant made breakfast and I cleaned up. I feel like I have accomplished what I wanted to which was packing my bag for my work trip next week. I am all packed accept for some last minute things, so yay! Yesterday was fun, my mom came over and she helped me dye my hair and trim it up. I probably need a real hair cut but I just feel like its such a waste of money sometimes, especially when my hair is a little longer like it is now.
Yesterday and today feel like summer, I am wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Its weird to have this warm weather in the winter, I guess I really got use to the NZ winter and summer, where there is a distinct difference.
Above is a really pretty tree that is in bloom near my work.
Above is the painting I am working on, I am now using oil paints and its really nice to have a change from all the watercolors I do.
Below is the painting my mom did! She has never used oil before and it came out really good!
Here is Grant making Breakfast, Can't wait till we move and have a larger kitchen.
On Sunday we went to my cousins house for the Superbowl. It was a really fun day with lots of food!
This little cutie was there!
Here are the ladies posing!
It was such a warm day that I couldn't wear shoes, so far this has been a really hot winter.
The weekend flew by and before I knew it I was back at work!
Today I was looking at what I did last year on this day, and a lot has changed in the last year!
Last year during this month we had just moved into our place we are in now and I had just started a new job that I no longer have, there was a lot of craziness going on. Luckily a year later we are more settled and I now have a job I love. We are planning on moving again soon into our own place not far from here, but as for right now we are much more settled than we were just one year ago, and that is a good feeling!
