Peter Pan Play

Last week we went to see Peter Pan.  Our friend's son Gavin was in the play as a lost boy.
Now I have to tell you my history with plays, musicals, and ballets.  Its not good!  Whenever I go to a production I can't get into it and I end up feeling really claustrophobic and leaving.  When I was in high school I won an art contest and the winner got tickets to see into the woods and my mom and I went and left half way through.

I have to say this was the best play!  Maybe because I knew someone in the play or maybe because its a story I know and we had good seats, but I really really enjoyed it.  Gavin was excellent!  This event was at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside.  I highly recommend going and seeing a play there.

I can't wait to see what Gavin does next, he is very talented and at such a young age.

So I started an Instagram account.  I had one before and I didn't really understand it so I quit the account, but now I am back.  My cousins talked me into it (didn't take much), all they had to say was we put a lot of stuff up on Instagram that we don't put anywhere else.

So there it is! You can follow me if you want.  I put stuff up on there that I don't put anywhere else and I also put up stuff that probably no one cares about hahaha.

In today's Shannon news, I had to take my car to get fixed because I lost power steering yesterday when driving home from Target.  The annoying thing is I had to drive the car to the place and then I had to walk the mile home with Emmett.  The reason is Grant only has a van with no seats in the back so the only way we could have swung driving there would be for me to drive the van, Emmett would be in the front seat with the air bag and Grant would be rolling around the back with all the tools.  So I decided I would walk and risk getting run over at a cross walk instead.  Its always something! As my mom says, it could be worse.  Yes it can keep getting worse or it could be better lol.  I guess that is what legs are for, walking.  On to more positive things.

The Bat Mobile

Today we took the bat mobile outside and went for a ride.  Emmett is a serious baby, he likes to laugh but when he is doing something he has a very determined look about him.  We went out in the front of our house and drove along the path.  He can only go backwards lol, but I can tell that soon he will be on his way to moving forward.

The best thing about this car is that it makes all kinds of noises and says its over joker.
Sooo cute.

This summer will be lots of fun because he will be able to do so many out door activities.

Grand National Roadster Show 2015
 Please join our current giveaway!

On Friday we went to the Grand National Roadster Show at the Pomona Fair Grounds.
It was really fun to walk around and see all the nice cars.  We always get to see all of our friends that come to the show from out of town, so its always a fun time.

These neon signs were awesome, if I had more money and a larger house I would get one!

Emmett had the best time ever! He was so happy to walk around and see all the cars and people.

Here he is at the Rodder's Journal booth, loving it!

11 Months Old and a Hair Cut

Emmett is 11 months old.  In one short month he will be a one year old and for some reason that is really hard to believe.  I look at photos of him from when he was a new born and it is actually hard to recognize that baby anymore.  I can still remember the day he was born like it was yesterday and when I really think about it I still get teared up about how special that day was.
As much as I loved him as a new born I enjoy him more and more everyday!  And as he grows and develops his own personality and individual qualities I love him more and more.  I know that what goes into making a person who they are has a lot to do with how they are raised, but I am finding it very interesting that he also has his own traits that were never taught to him that are all his own.

  • He is very cautious
  • When he is done eating he will let you know by throwing everything on the floor
  • He likes to run
  • He will be an early talker because he already has a lot to say
  • He doesn't cry very often, even when he slams his fingers in the drawers
  • His newest trick is clapping! Sometimes he will clap at the funniest things
  • He loves the remote control! When he gets it he quickly pushes every button!
  • He loves books!  I was shocked cause for the first 6 months I had to force reading
  • Yesterday he got his first real professional hair cut and he was so good.

Make sure you stop by the blog tomorrow!  There will be a big giveaway going on all week long.

Lately we have just been hanging out at home, well I guess I should say Emmett has been staying home.  He has been sick for a week now!  Coughing and sneezing all over the place.  Thank goodness he is finally starting to get better.  Luckily my mom was able to watch him one of the days I had plans and Grant and I have been taking turns on the weekend to watch him while the other went out and did what we had planned.  When kids get sick its sad because they don't know what is going on.

Improv in Brea

Last night we went to the Improv and saw David Spade and Kevin Farley opened for him.
I could not believe we got to see Kevin Farley!  My all time favorite movie growing up was Tommy Boy.  It was fun to get away for the night and laugh.  I was surprised by David Spade's act because I had no idea what to expect.  I was imagining he would be a little more animated because that's how he is in the movies I have seen.  It almost seemed like he was trying out some new material on us, everything was funny, but of course some bits were funnier than others.  Kevin Farley was hysterical, I felt like I was watching Chris Farley because they look so much alike.  I just kept wondering why Kevin Farley is not more known.

Such a fun night I am so happy I went!
