Something New

We have been trying something new around here.  We have now set up a little table for Emmett to sit and eat at and do projects on.  Turns out he loves it!  I say, "time to eat, go and sit at your table" and I look over and there he is sitting and waiting for the meal!  Now of course this doesn't mean he sits there the whole time, I don't think I have said "sit down" more in my entire life, but I do think he likes it much better than being in his high chair.  For dinner we are trying to all eat together and for that meal we have him sit with us at the table in his high chair.

Its crazy how he has turned into such a big kid so quickly.

Thank you Lacey, Dean, and Hazel for the handed down snow boots.  We might have to wear them now while they fit LOL! I don't think they will fit when the snow hits next season.

Infected Splinter

Last week Grant got a metal splinter in his finger when working.  He came home and told me it was really bothering him.  His finger swelled up 3 times larger than normal and turned bright red.  It didn't take a genius to see it was infected.  The next morning we made a same day appointment to have it looked at.  We were all thinking that they would probably say its fine, but next thing you know he is in the hospital on antibiotics and they are saying it looks so bad they want to keep him over night.  Luckily when the Dr. came in the next day to inspect it they said because the antibiotics were working that he could go home and be monitored with a follow up appointment.

Now over a week later most of the swelling is gone and his finger is no longer red but a weird brown color instead.  I am assuming all the dark dead skin will peal away over time!

I am happy this is how it turned out and that he didn't need surgery as they first thought!

Don't worry everyone Grant had shorts on under that tunic dress lol.

Photo Shoot 14 Months

About two or so weeks ago our friend, professional and excellent photographer, Teresa Long took some photos of Emmett for us.  They turned out soo good!  We already have some hanging in our house and I can't wait to make a book with all the photos from every shoot we have done so far.

Thank you soo much Teresa!

Pretend City

Last Friday we went to Pretend City with Hazel! (also my mom and Lacey were there)
Friday was a rainy day too!  Thank goodness we are finally getting some rain here.

This place is really cool.  There is a whole village set up for kids to play and everything is just the right size for 1 to 5 year olds.  There is a grocery store, stage, farm, fire station, house... the list goes on and on.

The kids had a really really fun time.
Brace yourself for LOTS and LOTS of PHOTOS
(there is your warning)

He couldn't let go of the blue hoe.

Button pushing just happens to be Emmett's favorite game!

Hazel is showing him how to do it.
Standing while driving is never safe lol.

We helped them build a house.
 Cooking up a storm.
 Whip those eggs!
 Hazel is the cutest!
Emmett won for most water splashed on other people.  (sorry everyone, he is that kid)
Hazel caught the most sea creatures.

 Paging Doctor Torrens...

After pretend city we all went to lunch.

Mothers Day 2015

Yesterday was my second Mothers Day.  It was such a nice day spent with my mom and Emmett.  Grant got me flowers and he fixed the front door threshold for my gift!  I am so happy that front door is finally fixed, such a great gift!

My mom came over and we went to the gem fair.  I only got $10 worth of beads, mostly just some beads to make bracelets for myself.  We then went to lunch at Fashion Island.  It was a really nice day out, especially by the beach.  Grant was busy doing his own thing lol as usual, I think he likes to have time to himself since he is working all week.

Here are the beautiful flowers Grant got me.

Mothers day morning, wearing our Christmas pajamas hahahhaa

We enjoyed watching the Koi Fish
Emmett just wanted to get down and then when he was down he wanted up lol.
My mom and I worked on her scrap book.
Also Thank you to Teresa Long for the beautiful photos of Emmett!

Bonneville 200 MPH Party

Yesterday was the Bonneville 200 MPH Club Party.  It was great to have the whole gang back together.  The lunch was catered by Pie and Burger, and I have to say they make the best burger I have ever eaten!  The pie was delicious too!

Its too bad we don't all go to Bonneville any more because it was always such a fun time!
I guess it just reminds you to savor the fun times and live in the moment.
