32 Birthday

It is so hard to believe I am 32!  I use to think people in their 30's seemed like they were "grown ups" and knew everything, but I now realize that I am in my 30's and I keep thinking, "am I a grown up yet???"  I just feel like a kid that now has their own kid and runs a house hahaha how did all that happen?

Anyways this birthday was just like any other Tuesday, we went to Emmett's class (which was a Halloween party) and I came home and made dinner.  Grant gave me some beautiful flowers and my parents gave me an awesome watch from Rome!

It was an excellent birthday.  I love that my birthday is close to Halloween because there is always so much going on in October, it almost feels like we get to do something fun the whole month.  Growing up I always had Halloween themed parties and this year we get to take Emmett trick or treating for the first time and I am so excited!

We were at a park and the teacher is standing with all the kids.
I was a little stressed trying to keep Emmett in my view the whole time every second because there are streets all around this park and with his costume on it was hard to see him with all the other costumes!  Soon he will understand the importance of not going far from mom, but right now he doesn't get it!
Emmett looks short next to all the other kids, but keep in mind most of them are much older than him.  He is one of the youngest in the group.

 Birthday dinner at home =)

My birthday flowers from Grant.

Cake Pops

Last week I tried something new, I made cake pops for our bunco party.  The idea of cake pops is easy but actually making them is pretty labor intensive.

You have to first make a box cake, then you have to smash all of that up with some frosting till it makes a squishy ball.  Then you have to scoop out a little at a time and make that into small balls, after that you refrigerate it for an hour, you then dip it into chocolate and shake sprinkles on it.

I guess I am use to making a cake and frosting it and calling it a day, so to me this seemed like a lot of work.

With the left over chocolate I made some dipped cookies.
Tasted delicious!

Today we went to the 2015 Spooktacular at the Irvine Great Park.  It was so much fun.  There was a pumpkin patch and a petting zoo.  Emmett was so excited to see the TURTLE! And of course there was another fire truck.  Before we left we watched a dog and disc show.  All the dogs run fast and catch discs.

Look someone is taller than dada.
Lucky for us this scarecrow was from Wellington NZ so we had a lot to discuss lol.

He didn't want to get down!

This face he was making hahhahah so funny!

Emmett took this photo of me =)
He is excited to move to an open area and have chickens... some day.
Here is an awesome idea for growing plants in our back yard.

Building with Dada.  Grant was excited because at the LA Galaxy booth he was able to kick the ball in the top hole.  He says it was because of his new lucky flip flops.

Fire Station

This morning we started out with the All Blacks game!  We WON! Now the All Blacks will be going to the Rugby World Cup Final!  After the early morning game we headed out to an open house at a new fire station.  Emmett loved the fire trucks, and we had a hot dog lunch there too.  We parked far and walked only to find out we could have parked right at the station.  Oh well at least we had hats for the 90 degree weather.

We finished off the day by walking through a furniture consignment store and heading home =)
Such a fun filled day!

 Emmett's first All Blacks game!
Here we are cheering on the team in our NZ shirts!

 Hot dog picnic.
This is his seriously excited face LOL
Drive us home Emmett!
As we were walking back to the car Grant tripped and broke his flip flop!  So he walked bare foot to the car (jokingly whining the whole time) and lucky for him we found a store on our way home to replace his jandals.

Hanging With Grandpa

Every week we bring lunch and eat with Grandpa.  Emmett loves hanging out with Grandpa and seeing all of his cool cars.  This week we brought our Halloween costume to show PaPa.  He loved it!

Its the red hat society!

We go around and around in the wagon.  He loves it!

His tree is sick so we are going to try to save it, but not sure if it can be saved.
Papa has some awesome ferns just like NZ in his backyard.

Date Night

Last night we went on a date to the Irvine Spectrum.  We walked around and went to dinner at a Japanese restaurant.  It is so nice to go out and have some fun!

Tanaka Farms

Yesterday we went to Tanaka Farms.  This is a real farm! They grow vegetables and have a petting zoo.  The great thing is its really affordable to get in and the hay ride was really long and worth the $5.00!  We really enjoyed the whole experience, from the scarecrows to picking our own pumpkin.

We walked into the farm and I gave Emmett a squeezy applesauce packet and he immediately squeezed it all over the front of his shirt when I realized this we were about to get on the tractor hay ride!  So I whipped off his shirt and luckily my mom had a tissue to try to wipe off as much as I could.  We sadly had left the diaper bag at home hahha so we were stuck wearing dirty clothes and a wet diaper.  I guess some days you just deal with what you have.

Emmett loves tractors so he was in corn row heaven.

We joked that dada could be a scarecrow for Halloween.  BOO

I love these grey / orange pumpkins.
